Most of my characters are based on real people and Harold is no exception–he is actually an amalgamation of various men I have known. The “real” Harold was an enormous help and an exceptionally good friend to the “real” Bella through decades of life’s complications. The real Harold would never have used one of Bella’s jams to manipulate for a date. May the real Harold rest in peace.
